Tumblr is finally coming of age – when the web world went mad on aggregation, and web 2.0 sites took full advantage of using other peoples information, tumblr was already doing it for individuals. http://jaffamonkey.tumblr.com. It provides not only aggregation, but multitude of formats to present that information. I am not going to rewrite their blurb, as it seems pretty self-explanatory!

The festival is for everyone working in the digital media space.  These include executives working in TV production / Film production / Commercial Production / Music companies / Broadcasters / ISPs Telcos / Advertising agencies / Games companies / Web developers / Mobile content providers / Post production companies / Interactive service providers / Content aggregators / Distributors

The two-day, twin-track agenda will allow festival attendees to tailor their experience according to their interests and make the most of the diversity on offer during plenary networking sessions.

What is a mashup?Â

A mashup is a hybrid web application… it takes functionality from multiple sources and combines them to create a new application. Often this is done through API’s – one well-known example of a web service with a powerful API is Google Maps. Many developers have utilized the Google Maps API and combined it with another service, such as a listing of beaches with WiFi internet access, to create a new map application that points out the best beaches in the world based on the availability of WiFi. The Maps program comes from Google and the listing of beaches comes from another site, and the developer merges the two into a new application. Continue reading
